Laurie is a communications strategist with deep agency experience across diverse industries. Over the last two decades, she has executed impactful projects in strategic communications; qualitative and quantitative research; and issues management and crisis communication programs. She has skillfully delivered large-scale audits, research initiatives, communication plans, and toolkits for nonprofits, associations, think tanks, municipalities, the Government of Alberta, as well as a broad range of private-sector corporations and industries.
A journalist by training, Laurie is a skilled interviewer whose curiosity brings clarity to complex topics. Throughout her career, she has interviewed hundreds of experts to capture perceptions and inform communication programs. She excels at distilling extensive qualitative and quantitative findings into clear insights that translate into actionable strategies to advance organizations’ communication goals.
Highlights include interviewing 100+ stakeholders and authoring a nonprofit organization’s history book which had multiple reprints due to high demand, totaling over 10K copies; and interviewing 40+ subject-matter experts at one of Canada’s oldest and largest energy organizations to develop a website showcasing its leadership in corporate social responsibility, community investment, and innovations in mitigating environmental impact. Her written work spans op-eds, speeches, and open letters, and her content portfolio includes annual reports, newsletters, websites, press kits, videos, marketing collateral, advertisements, and more.
