Stacey Smith has over 20 years of project management, fundraising, strategic planning and communication experience. Throughout her career, Stacey has successfully managed projects with great attention to detail and has always focused on the needs of the clients.
In 2016, Stacey found a new opportunity at Bow Valley College as a Fund Development Officer where she continued to make a significant impact in adult education. She successfully managed a portfolio of donors comprised of both organizations and individuals. Stacey has a natural talent of building authentic relationships and creating effective partnerships. These partnerships resulted in over 20 new student awards and an additional $200,000 in revenue raised for the College.
Stacey spent the last two and half years at the Calgary Zoo as the Senior Development Officer of Annual Giving. Throughout her tenure she increased the donor base, doubled the annual giving revenue and elevated the monthly donor program; growing the participation from 112 ($46,000) to 304 donors ($115,000). She was also the lead on multiple, very successful campaigns including the COVID appeal in 2020 where she raised $1.3 million in two months, Giving Tuesday and the Dinny restoration project which earned over $100,000.
To also support the sector, Stacey has volunteered for CASE (Council for Advancement and Support of Education), AFP (Association of Fundraising Professionals), Board Leadership Calgary and was a board member for Ghost River Theatre.
Stacey is that person who takes charge, produces results, smiling and laughing throughout the process. She approaches problems with a positive mindset and finds creative solutions by focussing on what we can do, not what we can’t.
