Michelle Bowers

Michelle Bowers brings 13 years of diverse experience in the social profit sector to her role as Fundraising Prospect Researcher and Pipeline Coordinator with Bespoke. Her journey from an Electronic Prepress Technician at the Calgary Herald to a dedicated professional in the nonprofit field reflects her desire to engage in work with a broader social impact. Michelle uses her research expertise to identify and qualify potential donors, compile profiles and meeting briefs, and support fundraising initiatives through tracking donor development.

Before joining Bespoke in September 2024, Michelle was the Prospect Analyst for Bow Valley College. Her experience in event planning, grant writing, and community engagement at the Southern Alberta Brain Injury Society further honed her skills in fund development. Prior to that, she held various roles, including support worker, case manager, and leisure recreation coordinator, supporting clients living with addictions, mental health, and brain injuries.

Michelle holds a BA in Psychology from the University of Calgary, a diploma in Photojournalism from SAIT, and several professional certifications, including Raiser’s Edge Fundamentals and Apra Fundamentals: Prospect Research, and is an active member of Apra Canada. Her curiosity, attention to detail, and passion for understanding what drives people fuel her success in research and donor engagement.

Outside of work, Michelle enjoys volunteering, most recently with IncluCity Calgary. Her personal interests include photography, hiking, and live music, with a love for nature and a talent for editing.
