Barb Giba

Barb is a highly experienced professional who brings 15 years of fundraising experience to the Bespoke team.

In her former role as Associate Vice-President of Development in the Cumming School of Medicine at the University of Calgary, she secured multiple $10M+ gifts in support of health research and education priorities including the successful execution of a $100M gift to name the school. Barb and worked tirelessly with her colleagues to raised$1.1B toward the city’s largest campaign, the University of Calgary’s Energize: The Campaign for Eyes High. As a member of the University’s Development Executive Team, she contributed to the leadership and strategy for more than 160 development and alumni relations professionals and directed a team of 16 in the medical school that secured $600M to the campaign. Under her leadership, annual fundraising revenue in the medical school nearly doubled.

Prior to her role in the Cumming School of Medicine, Barb was Co-Director of the Reach! campaign, a partnership between Alberta Health Services, the Calgary Health Trust, and the University of Calgary. Barb contributed to the leadership and execution of a successful $312M outcome. Reach! Was the largest campaign in southern Alberta at that time that provided Barb with invaluable experience in the facilitation of successful outcomes between partner organizations.

A former Director and Board Chair for Carya Society of Calgary, Barb is currently a volunteer coach with Special Olympics Calgary.
